The Lie That Bottle Feeding Is Easier

Satan has filled our world with lies, and one of the biggest ones is that bottle feeding is easier than breastfeeding.

You’ve probably heard it from every angle—friends, family, even commercials. But today, I want to refute that lie, because it is a lie. It’s just another way to make you feel like you can’t do it. Like you’re not enough. Like God didn’t make you capable.

Let me tell you, Mama—you are capable. You were made to do this.

The Truth About Bottle Feeding

If you’re bottle feeding, you’ve got to have a lot of stuff. Clean water, formula, bottles, nipples, and something to warm it all up. That adds up—both in cost and in effort.

Clean water might not always be easy to find or affordable. Warming milk can be impossible depending on where you are. You’ve got to pack everything, remember every little part, and make sure you don’t forget anything. And let’s be honest—mom brain is real!

The truth is, it’s a lot to juggle. The world tells you it’s no big deal, but as moms, the last thing we need is more stress.

Who Benefits From This Lie?

Let’s think about who’s been feeding us these lies. I’ll give you one guess—formula companies.

They tug at your heartstrings, saying things like, “We know breast is best, but if you can’t, we’re here to help.” That might sound kind, but it plants a seed of doubt.

Yes, there are rare times when formula truly saves the day—but those times are few and far between. More often than not, the same people who claim to “save the day” are the ones who caused the problem in the first place.

You’re vulnerable in those first days. When you’re tired and emotional, and you start worrying your baby isn’t getting enough, you’re more likely to reach for the formula bottle. It’s an easy trap, and the enemy knows it.

Those seeds of doubt come from every direction—marketing, hospitals that hand out free formula “just in case,” well-meaning relatives who say, “It’s no big deal, we did it this way.”

But Mama, here’s the truth: God made your body to feed your baby.

God Designed You Perfectly

He gave you breasts to feed your baby, glands that respond to your baby’s needs, and milk that is always the perfect temperature.

You never have to warm it up or test it on your wrist. It’s ready 24/7—even in the middle of the night when you can barely open your eyes.

You don’t have to stumble down the hall or turn on bright lights. You don’t need to measure or mix anything. Your milk is right there with you, anytime, anywhere.

I’ve had three babies, and not once have I gotten out of bed in the middle of the night to feed them. Why? Because my milk was right there beside me.

That’s not a boast—it’s a testimony. I refused to believe I couldn’t do it. Even when it was hard, even when it hurt, even when the latch wasn’t perfect—I kept going. I sought help, practiced, prayed, and persevered.

Because I knew God had made me to do this.

Freedom and Simplicity in God’s Design

Want to go shopping? No problem. You’ve got milk with you.

Church? Visiting family? Traveling? Still no problem. You have everything you need—attached to your body, ready to go, with no preparation.

Yes, there’s a learning curve. You’ll figure out clothing, covers, layers—but it quickly becomes second nature. You’ll get so confident that most people won’t even notice you’re nursing.

It’s not magic. It’s just practice—and you can do it.

Time: The Hidden Truth

Many people think bottle feeding is faster. But that’s not true.

In the first week or two, breastfeeding might take a little longer. It’s a learning process for both you and your baby. But here’s the key: breastfeeding gets faster and easier with time.

Bottle feeding doesn’t.

Six months down the road, bottle feeding still takes just as long as it did on day one. But breastfeeding becomes quicker, smoother, and easier.

If you can get through those first two weeks—the time when most mamas quit—you’ll find that breastfeeding becomes effortless. It becomes second nature, and more than that, it becomes a deeply beautiful relationship between you and your baby.

You Were Made for This

Mama, don’t let the world convince you that bottle feeding is easier. Don’t let the enemy steal your confidence or your joy.

You were made to do this. God designed you for it.

And I want to help you get there. That’s why I’m teaching a live workshop this Tuesday called “Feeding Your Baby God’s Way.” We’ll walk through everything you need to establish and enjoy a peaceful, successful breastfeeding relationship—no matter what obstacles come your way.

You’ll leave confident, equipped, and ready, knowing that God’s way truly is the best way.
