Prefer to listen? Here's the audio!

Do you ever have things hit you and you just have to get them out or get 'em on paper or something, or you just can't think about anything else? Well, this is one of those things. It did not exist when I got up this morning. I usually kind of have a plan of what my next few episodes are gonna be, but this one skips the line because it just had to come out.

Worship That Resonates

This morning I went to worship and our sermon just resonated with me on so many levels, but I can bet you with almost 100% accuracy that I was the only one in the auditorium making applications to birth while our preacher was talking. This episode might be a little long, but I really, really need you to stick with me till the end.

I'm gonna challenge you, I'm gonna push you, or as one of the other podcasts I listen to says a lot, I'm gonna love and shove you. Because you just can't sit lukewarm. You've gotta pick a side and you've gotta stand strong. Wanna know what I'm talking about? Let's go.

Standing Strong in Faith

Sometimes if you've had these things happen to you, it can be very, very hard to step away from it and really put your eyes on God. And I thank you for encouraging me to do this because your words help me to know that my message to you today is needed and it's on point.

And I say that knowing that I am honored that God would allow me to be one speaking to you to help you grow closer to Him because there's nothing more important. You know, this is not a Bible study podcast at all. That's not the mission of my podcast. There are lots of those out there, but that's not the exact mission of this one. My podcast is a way to help you during your pregnancy, your birth, to grow closer to God through the lessons you learn from me and through your life, through your pregnancy, through acknowledging this beautiful design that He has made in us.

But that being said, today there is gonna be quite a bit of Bible study because this is coming from our sermon today at church. The overall topic, or the sermon title, was Victory in Jesus. And he joked that he almost named it "Christians were Nikes." And of course, that made everybody laugh. But the reason he said that is because the word victory and the word overcome in the Bible are translated from the Greek word Nike.

Victory in Birth and Life

I thought it was cute, but I wanted to lead in with that because where our victory is going to come from when it comes to our births is the same place that our victory and our salvation are gonna come from. But here's what I need you to remember: Anytime God opens a door to do good for Him, there will be opposition.

That's how the devil works. Anytime a door opens for an opportunity to do good, the devil is right there waiting to discourage you or knock you off track. If you're not sold out for God, you're gonna give up. But when you really, really make up your mind to put the Lord first, there will be no problem with being on fire for Him.

Facing Opposition in Childbirth

For some, that door of opportunity is this podcast. He has opened a door to you to learn more about His design for your body, things maybe you've never thought about before, and now you're getting a chance to learn about them. But there’s gonna be opposition to that. The devil does not like for you to do anything that’s gonna draw you nearer to God.

Oftentimes, that opposition comes at the very beginning stages when you're just first learning and just starting to realize some things. But very quickly, you can see other things that maybe put that fear back in, make you think, "Eh, yeah, that sounds real good, but eh, it's not really for me."

Today's episode is all about getting you to see that it really is for you, but you gotta get it right in your mind. You gotta get strong.

The Danger of Being Lukewarm

We started by looking at the second and third chapters of Revelation, reading about various churches addressed for different reasons by Jesus. Almost always He started with complimenting them on something but then dug into something they needed to do better.

We focused on the church at Laodicea, known for being lukewarm—not hot, not cold, just in between. Jesus said He would vomit them out of His mouth. Think about that imagery. They weren’t on fire for Him, nor completely indifferent. They were rich, focused on their wealth, and forgot their need for God.

Sound familiar? Just like lukewarm coffee, lukewarm faith is offputting. You’ve gotta stand for something, or you will fall for anything.

The Power God Built Into Women

God made us to give life. The male-dominated obstetrics system often tells women they can’t birth without help. But only women have the power to bring forth life. Even if interventions are needed, most of us can still honor God’s design and birth His way.

Examine your resolve. How serious are you about wanting to have your birth God's way? It’s never too late to decide that you are sold out for doing it His way.

Overcoming the Accuser

Revelation 12 talks about overcoming the accuser, Satan. Verse 11 gives the recipe:
1. By the blood of the Lamb – your salvation in Christ protects you.
2. By the word of their testimony – your life demonstrates your faith and trust in God.
3. They did not love their lives to the death – don’t put fear above following God’s design.

Satan wants you to doubt your ability to birth God’s way. But when you study His Word, lean on Him, and trust His design, you overcome.

Educate Yourself, Trust God

Most interventions in childbirth are unnecessary, applied to everyone rather than just those who need them. Educate yourself so you can discern real emergencies from coercion.

Choose providers who believe birth is normal and trust their guidance. This preparation helps you navigate childbirth confidently, keeping God at the forefront.

Closing Encouragement

I hope today’s message strengthens your faith and empowers you to have your birth God’s way. Send me a message, leave a review, or join our Facebook group to share your thoughts. Let’s grow closer to God together, and reclaim this journey He designed for us.
