We humans need constant reminders. Remember all those stories of Israel in the Old Testament and how they forgot what God did for them only moments after He did it? Yeah, we’re like that. So while I don’t love stepping on your toes, I know that sometimes we need to be reminded about where our eyes need to be.
Stick with me for some reminders and encouragement as you walk through this beautiful time of life designed by God.
Maybe you’re afraid you won’t be able to nurse your baby. You’ve heard stories of failure and feel like you’ll be next. I hear you. I once was you—standing in the formula aisle, feeling defeated before I even began.
But that was not my story, and it doesn’t have to be yours. My God had better for me, and He’s got better for you too. I went on to exclusively nurse all three of my babies, each well past a year. I learned through that experience that God’s way truly is the best way.
Mama, I need to be real with you. This episode—and this message—might feel a little tough, but sometimes we need that loving reminder. We all do.
1 Corinthians 10:12 tells us, “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”
If you think it could never happen to you, beware—or it just might.
I’m saying this with love: you are weak, because we all are. Especially during pregnancy, when emotions are high and our instincts to protect our babies are strong. God gave us that protective heart, but Satan knows that too—and he uses it against us.
He wants to steal your peace, the peace that comes from God. He wants to replace faith with fear, and trust with anxiety. He doesn’t need you to completely turn away from God; he just needs you to place your faith in anything but God.
In today’s world, the medical system often becomes that idol. We run to it first instead of turning to prayer, Scripture, and the wisdom God already gave us. Most of our doctors haven’t even seen a truly normal, undisturbed birth—and yet we call them the experts.
We live in an age of supposed wisdom, yet our maternity outcomes are worse than ever. Why? Because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7). True wisdom doesn’t come from man—it comes from God.
So I ask you: is your provider someone who fears the Lord? Or someone who laughs at your faith?
Mama, your wisdom comes from the Word of God, not from credentials or machines. Seek His truth above all.
Just like God told Job, “Do you know the time when the mountain goats bear young?” (Job 39:1)—He reminded Job that He manages all life. From wild animals to your baby growing inside you, God oversees it all.
And just as Jesus said in Matthew 6, “Look at the birds of the air… your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
If God tends to the lilies and the sparrows, how much more will He tend to you and your baby?
Seek first the Kingdom of God.
That’s where your peace and wisdom come from.
If your faith feels weak, Romans 10:17 gives the answer:
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”
Your faith grows when you read and hear His Word—not just what others say about it. Dust off that Bible, Mama. Let it speak directly to you.
Proverbs 3:5–6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
That’s not a maybe—He shall direct your path.
Mama, even Solomon—the wisest man who ever lived—was led astray in his later years. If he could fall, so can we. None of us are immune to distraction or fear. That’s why keeping your eyes on God is not optional—it’s essential.
My number one goal with this podcast, and this post, isn’t just to help you have a healthy pregnancy or a natural birth. My greatest desire is to help you grow closer to God, to know Him deeply, and to stay focused on Him.
Because what good is it if we have everything we want on earth, but miss heaven?
You are not walking this road alone. You’ve got me, this podcast, and a community of like-minded mamas in our Your Birth God’s Way Facebook group. You’ve got tools, courses, and most importantly—God’s Word to anchor you.
I want you to have joy in this season, not fear. Satan wants to steal your peace, but he cannot win when your eyes are on the Lord.
